Dr James Robinson is a comprehensive general ophthalmologist, as well as lid, lacrimal and cataract surgeon.

James completed his undergraduate degree, medical degree and Masters of Public Health at The University of Sydney, graduating in 2014. He also completed his internship and residency in Sydney, before undertaking further training in emergency medicine in Darwin.
He completed his basic ophthalmology training in the Sydney Eye Hospital network between 2019 and 2022, which included placements at many of Sydney’s teaching hospitals, as well as placements in Darwin, Hobart, and regional NSW. Looking to broaden his competencies, he undertook further training in paediatric ophthalmology and squint surgery at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead, the quaternary referral centre for paediatric ophthalmology in NSW.
This was followed by a 12-month fellowship in oculoplastic surgery in Herefordshire, UK, where he honed his skills in treating ptosis (“droopy lids”), dermatochalasis (excess upper lid skin), ectropion, entropion, watery eye, and surgical treatment of periocular skin cancers.
Outside of work, James enjoys spending time with his wife and two young sons, as well as traveling, exercising, and playing golf (poorly).
